  • Our one day filming class is the perfect place to start your filmmaking career or just learn more about making films.

  •

  • We use the latest UltraHD 4K and 5K professional video cameras and show you the ‘easy way’ to use them so you don’t have to spend years in film school.

  •

  • In this hands-on intensive class, students are offered instruction in the basics of storytelling, composition and shooting, and Final Cut ProX editing on our 27" iMac 5K Retina computer.

  •

  • Whether you are a novice looking for a primer on all the aspects of making a film or just a movie buff interested in the behind-the scenes filmmaking process, this class is designed for you!

  •

  • This is a fun, collaborative, real-time and on location filmmaking class that allows you to experience all the elements of making a film.

  •

  • No filmmaking experience is required, only your desire to learn in a casual but professional environment.

  •

  • First and foremost, our aim is to give everyone who attends the class a unique and fun experience.

  •

  • By the end of the day you will have worked on a film set and helped direct and produce a short film which will be uploaded to YouTube and you will be able to share it with your friends.

  •

  • You will have experienced different roles in a professional film crew and worked as part of a creative team towards a common objective which will leave you with a tremendous sense of achievement.

  •

  • This class is designed for small groups of 4-10 people so each of you will operate a camera and learn how to frame and direct the action.

  •

  • Shot on location in Noosa, the class is taught by Greg Huglin using one of our scripted storyboards.

  • The day begins with a production meeting at 9am to allocate roles of Director, Camera Operator, Sound Technician, Actors and Editors (students alternate roles throughout the day).

  •

  • Students receive instruction on our camera equipment which includes the:

  •

  • RED Epic 5K UltraHD Video Camera, the same camera Peter Jackson uses on ‘The Hobbit’ series and is also used on many Hollywood feature films such as ‘The Martian’, ‘Jurassic World’,  ‘Pirates of The Caribbean’ and ‘Night At The Museum’.

  •

  • Panasonic GH4 DSLR 4K Video/Still Camera.

  •

  • Go Pro Hero5 Camera.

  •

  • Zhiyun 3-Axis Electric Gimballed Stabiliser for smooth hand held shots.

  •

  • Ipad wireless monitors so you can easily see what the camera is framing.

  •

  • The morning is spent shooting the script and then the footage is uploaded to a iMac 27" 1TB FusionDrive 5K editing computer while students enjoy a fully catered lunch (please advise of any dietary restrictions).

  •

  • The afternoon is spent editing, choosing background music, sound effects and recording narration if necessary.

  •

  • The finished film is uploaded to Youtube.

  •

  • The day concludes with a Wrap Party where the finished film is screened and each student is awarded a Noosa Film Academy Certificate of Completion.

Private tuition for groups or individuals can be arranged upon request.
